A Heartfelt Goodbye to our Furry Bestest best Friends. (Abba and Mickie)

Dear Abba and Mickie,  

It’s hard to put into words how much you mean to us. From the very first day you came into our lives, home would never be the same again. You've brought nothing but love, laughter, and warmth into our lives.

You are more than just dogs; you were my confidants, our protectors, and our constant source of comfort.  

You greeted us every day with wagging tails and sparkling eyes that spoke a unique language of true love. On my toughest days, you were both there, and your presence a reminder that we were never alone. 

Your bond with Nyozi transcended anything I have ever known, you both made even the simplest of moments feel very special to her that she often proudly referred to you as her dogs and her best friends, whether it was a stroll around the compound, a game of wrestling or a game of catch me if you can, or just sitting by my or Nyozi's side.  

Saying goodbye to the both of you is proving to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. My heart aches knowing we won’t be hearing your paws pattering across the concrete and grassy compound, your stronger protective barks in the night as we slept, or feeling your heads resting on our laps, or even seeing your tails wag when we (Nyozi and I) walk through the gate.  

But as much as this hurts, I am choosing to remember all the good times. We’ll treasure the memories of you running through the grass, barking at the "trespassing" cats and birds, and curling up at our feet (Nyozi and I) while we sat outside the house. 

We’ll carry your love in our hearts forever, and I know that in some way, you’ll always be with us.  

My dear furry friends, thank you for being the bestest best friends we could have ever ask for. You taught us what true loyalty and unconditional love feel like, and for that, we'll forever be eternally grateful.  

Run free, my sweet furry Abba and Mickie.
